Used this reel a few times on a 13 ft match rod. It is loaded with 4 lb mono and handles it perfectly. I have found casting to be much more smooth compared to my old reel. The drag is also very responsive and has help me reel in some 6 lb carp and barbel with ease. Glad I paid a little extra compared with other models as the Aluminium frame and Spools feel top quality.

Although the CS7 is the heaviest of CS reels (compared to a CS10,8, etc), it is still lighter than any other similar reel I have owned, by quite a margin. With the high retrieve rate, these are great on my Cadence Match rods and super strong with the aluminium body.

Well, been using one CS7 4000 for a 2 months and now i can tell my opinion.
Despite all good features, i can mention only bad ones.
    1. Using mainly for feeder fishing (like medium one, up to 60g) and this reel is not powerfull enough for reeling in more than 30g feeders comfortablly. So yeah, using only for up to those weights. And in that case its pretty limited.
    2. I noticed that factory printed letters/numbers on the spool just goes off, no need to scrach or anything, just touch with the finger and letters stick to the finger. Not a big deal but it just weird. (Maybe weather confitions, like heat/cold (well i have been using only this summer) and humidity does this trick but isn’t it ment to use outside? 🙂
    3. and the last most cruel stuff – fishing real clips… i am using it with Daiwa j-braid x8 0.10mm main line and if clips is used, after 5 hours fishing session fishing line in that place became fluffy because of those edges on the spool where clips is mounted. They are SO nasty sharp that literally 2 times i just cut braid line while trying to clip on… (it happened 2 times, first time i thought its accident but today it happened second time, like pure clean cut while trying to clip on and like 35 meters of braid fishing line is just thrown into the trash). Well… thats all.

Just received both the 3000 and 4000. Very good quality for the price point. Very smooth action and nice retrieve and line lay on the spools. Well worth the punt .

Received my 3000&4000 reels within 24 hours of ordering, securely packaged. First impressions are very good, solid positive bail arm, lovley clutch, line lay and operates as smooth as silk. No regrets here 😉

I’d been looking to purchase a 3000 size reel a while to cover options for waggler fishing and maybe some light feeder fishing, typically the Yorkshire rivers and big canals such as the Aire and Calder, is where I’ll be found. Normally a person who likes to go and have a look before I buy I’m sometimes a little reticent when internet shopping. However, the reviews on these reels seemed sound and as someone who likes matching pairs of reels this offer was too good to miss. I needn’t have worried, the quality of these reels far surpassed my expectations. I’m yet to put line on them (I only received them yesterday) so it would be wrong of me to talk about how they perform on the bank, though I’m sure they will be excellent. A smooth winding action, a very positive and sturdy bail arm and what looks like an excellent clutch system suggest many years of service. I immediately put one of the reels on a rod which revealed a nice balance. I usually use a close face reel for stick float fishing, simply because I have relatively short fingers, I see no reason why i would not be comfortable stick float fishing with this reel all day such is the compactness of it. Overall, I think the reels will suit my needs perfectly.
