Developed to complement our exciting range of CF20 IG Microspey Rods, these lines are a joy to use. Their use is wide-ranging, covering many different fishing scenarios, whether you’re fishing in tight areas for trout or pike fishing in reservoirs, lakes and lochs. During testing, we found the balance between the line and rod a great advantage when fishing in windy conditions, proving their worthwhile field testing in Iceland for sea trout and char. They’re also the perfect match when fishing for salmon and sea trout in small rivers at home or abroad. These lines bring our Microspey rods to life.

Ian Gordon Fly Lines

Designed for the 21st-century fly angler, these lines have been developed by Ian Gordon to meet the demands of modern fly fishing, the most common rod actions and fishing scenarios. We’ve taken on board feedback from fly anglers across the globe in our quest to create the best fly lines possible. Each of these lines has been developed and rigorously tested with our range of CF20 IG rods. They have been designed to balance perfectly with our entire range, meaning, at long last, you can buy a rod, reel and line knowing that each part of the jig saw fits to create the most balanced setup money can buy.

These innovative fly lines come complete with the unique Cadence Colour Coding System, allowing you to identify lines easily. The colour coding system also matches the correct line with the right rod. All IG lines have a blue running section on the first 14 feet of line, this acts as a visual reference to enable the caster to make the perfect Spey cast.

All lines come with welded loops designed with poly leaders in mind.

They are available as a Speyline or as a Shooting Head.

I purchased the 4/5 microspey and got the matching line as part of the purchase. Excellent line , suits the rod to a T, handles 5 and 8ft trout polyleaders easily . Recommended.

I did a fair amount of research before deciding to go ahead with my purchases. Having purchased the Micro Spey Rod rated 6/7 - the matching line came FREE! Who else does that! The line arrived in two days and was soon out of the box and fitted to my (Abel Super #7) fly reel, still retaining space for 100yds of backing - it's always nice to have a little in reserve! James (Cadence team) was really helpful, with him answering various (technical) questions about line weights, and rod loading, when fishing small to medium size rivers. etc. I've used the line on several occasions and I'm delighted with how well-balanced it is with the Micro Spey 6/7 rod, The line is simply amazing! A big thank you to James.

I have an 11' 6" #5/6 Loop NXT Switch rod that I have been struggling to find a line for. Most Switch lines seem to be a little too short or "clunky", or they do not come in such a light line weight. I wanted an integrated line because in the low water summer conditions I use the rod for, I sometimes like to inch a fly back or impart a bit more speed, and not having a connection gives me far more options.
Anyway, I decided to give the Microspey line a go, and what a line it is. For really low water, I much prefer a scandi style long tapered mono leader of some 15' and I have to say, the line preformed straight out of the box. I was able to make decent casts with very little splash from the leader on the setup, and it unrolled beautifully. It really does excel with the slightly longer rod and I am looking forward to using it for Sea Trout as well, later in the year.
I have not used polyleaders on it yet, but I reckon a slow sink 5' poly will be perfect.
I really do think this is going to become my go to summer grilse outfit!
Awesome line and a joy to cast.

I was totally impressed with the way you researched my rod characteristics and recommended the ideal line. It wass posted that same night and arrived a couple of days later.
The line casts beautifully and simply feels high quality

Have not had a chance to actually fish with it yet but buy the nice slick finish and trial casts on the lawn would appear to be good product and value , now just awaiting biblical rain ______
